Comments:
The biblical narrative describes Jeroboam II as evil - comparable to the evils of his namesake who revolted against Rehoboam, son of Solomon.

There is a discrepancy in the length of Jeroboam II's reign.  The biblical narrative states that Jeroboam reigned for 41 years.  However, the biblical narrative also states that he began his reign in the 15th year of Amaziah, king of Judah, and that his son Zechariah began his reign in the 38th year of Azariah, king of Judah.  The difference between these two dates is 52 years (refer to table of the kings of Judah for figures of these two kings).

The most likely explanation for this discrepancy is that the figure of 41 years is wrong - either recorded wrong or transcribed wrong over the years since it was recorded.
