For simplicity this table is broken into three parts: A line of descent from David's wife Maacah through her son Absolom, whose grand-daughter was the wife of Rehoboam through whom the line of David's kingly sons continues; the descendants of David's wife Bathsheba, mainly through Nathan her son, though Solomon was also her son; and a group of sons of David whose mothers are uncertain.
